Ireland and Northern Ireland’s Population Health Observatory (INIsPHO) is a partnership between organisations and networks involved in producing, disseminating and using intelligence about the population's health. 

The advisory group plays a critical role in developing this partnership so that the Observatory meets the information requirements of users and supports the activities of partner organisations.

The advisory group has been established to help the Institute of Public Health in Ireland (IPH) to develop the vision and five-year plan for the Observatory.  Members of the advisory group include representatives from government health departments both North and South, and other agencies. 

Terms of reference
The terms of reference are a brief high-level description of the guidelines prepared by the advisory group. These establish the aspirations, motives and responsibilities of the advisory group, which are to:

•  advocate and build support for the Observatory;
• engage with the Observatory’s key partner organisations and key stakeholders;
• develop the business case for the Observatory;
• develop the longer-term vision of the Observatory and its five-year plan;
• secure funding to implement this plan.
