Health inequalities are unacceptable, starting early in life and persisting not only into old age but subsequent generations. They reflect a complex array of health, social economic, environmental, and resourcing factors. Local health inequalities indicators give a picture of the situation in an area and put it into context by supporting and facilitating geographical comparisons.

An article about the All-Ireland electronic Health Library (AIeHL), written by Kevin P. Balanda published in the Health Sciences Libraries Group Newsletter, HINT.
The AIeHL is a network of inter-operable websites from across the island of Ireland. Each member website contains a range of health-related knowledge resources, and the AIeHL allows a visitor to any one of these websites to simultaneously search all or some of the other websites using a single search.

A poster presented at the 8th Annual Interdisciplinary Research Conference "Transforming Healthcare through Research, Education and Technology" of the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Trinity College from 7 - 9 November in Dublin.
Each year abstracts of original research or extensive, systematic literature reviews are invited for concurrent papers, workshops or poster presentations. Submisisons are welcome from health science professionals on any topic relating to healthcare (clinical, education, management).
