The Institute of Public Health in Ireland (IPH) launched two datasets that can be easily used to make more comprehensive comparisons between different areas of the island. The two datasets are called The All-Ireland Health and Social Care Indicator Set and Irish Health Poverty Index.

Institute Publishes Localised Health Information for North and the South of the island

The Institute of Public Health in Ireland (IPH) today launched two datasets that can be easily used to make more comprehensive comparisons between different areas of the island. The two datasets are called The All-Ireland Health and Social Care Indicator Set and Irish Health Poverty Index. They consist of 60 health-related indicators that are now available for every county in the Republic of Ireland and every local government district in Northern Ireland.
Cancer e-Atlas has been launched

A new public website ‘Cancer e-Atlas’ has been launched by the newly established National Cancer Intelligence Network (NCIN) to improve public access to basic cancer statistics at Local Authority and Cancer Network level across England. It presents data on the incidence of, and mortality / survival from the main types of cancers in men and women.

The Institute of Public Health in Ireland (IPH) today called for the formation of an Inter-Departmental Group on Fuel Poverty to enable the development of a fuel poverty strategy in Ireland.
Deputy First Minister refers to IPH work in developing health partnerships across the island - 18 June 2008

Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness today attended the launch of the Centre of Excellence for Public Health Research in Northern Ireland. In his speech he congratulated IPH on recently marking 10 years of working and referred to their successful work in developing partnerships for health across the island.
The Centre, in which IPH partner Queen's University and a number of other organisations including the Community for Development and Health Network , will research complex public health issues such as obesity, smoking and health inequalities.
