Consultation responses
Public consultations are now part and parcel of the democratic process. They provide an opportunity for people and organisations to input into policy making.
A central part of the Institute’s role is to advise on policy, and responding to public consultations is one of a number of ways in which we do this.
The Institute aims to provide submissions, based on research and the evidence base to those consultations that are of relevance to our remit.
While there are many reports on outcomes from consultations, there is little information on the lessons learned from such processes. The Institute’s report ‘Giving people a say on poverty and health – learning from the National Anti-Poverty Strategy and Health Consultation process’ outlines what was learned from the NAPS and Health consultation process which took place in 2001. Such documentation of process will help to inform future consultations.
Our most recent consultation responses are listed below and can be searched by keyword and/or year.
