INIsPHO Seminar: Inaugural event of the Health Analysts’ Special Interest Group

Start: 25 Mar 2008 - 13:00

End: 25 Mar 2008 - 18:00

INIsPHO Event Programme 2008

Health analysts play a critical role contributing to health service delivery and policy development but often work without vital support. For too long analysts have either had to work alone else only have a minimum number of colleagues to turn to for assistance. The health analysts’ special interest group was created to cater for the dedicated interests and needs of analysts. By joining the health analysts’ special interest group members can increase the capacity of persons they network and communicate with.

Ireland and Northern Ireland Population Health Observatory (INIsPHO@IPH) invite you to come along to the inaugural event of the health analysts’ special interest group where you can meet and network with fellow analysts and professionals interested in the analysis of health information. You will hear from Lorraine Fahy, the facilitator of the group, as well as from Dr. Conor Teljeur, an analyst with a specialised interest in health intelligence. Attendees will also be given the opportunity to frame the future direction of the group.

The seminar will start at 1pm, with lunch being served, and end at 3.15pm. At 3.30pm the movie “And the Band Played On” will be shown and attendees are welcome to remain on for this. The movie is about the discovery of the AIDS virus by an epidemiologist in the 1980’s and shows the important contribution that health analysis can make to public health.
