Association of Public Health Observatories (APHO)

APHO represents a network of 12 public health observatories (PHOs) working across the five nations of England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. APHO produces information, data and intelligence on people's health and health care for practitioners, policy makers and the wider community. APHO’s expertise lies in turning information and data into meaningful health intelligence.

East Midlands Public Health Observatory Health Intelligence Network

The East Midlands Public Health Observatory (EMPHO) is one of nine regional Public Health Observatories funded by the Department of Health in England.  EMPHO is the regional health intelligence organisation providing information and analysis to support those working to improve health and reduce health inequalities in the East Midlands. The EMPHO Intelligence Network is a Forum for Public Health People who are happy to share their expertise, interests and questions with colleagues.

Welsh Health Analysts Network (WHAN)

The Welsh Health Analysts Network (WHAN) was established during Spring of 2006 following the demise of the PIE (Public Health Information & Epidemiology) group, which gathered every quarter to discuss and share good practice amongst the Welsh analyst community. The WHAN provides an opportunity to share knowledge in the health information and intelligence community across Wales. The network is comprised of the leaders of teams across different organisations in Wales. Its aim is similar to the former PIE group, but with a CPD element, where specialists are invited to present to the Network on their areas of expertise.

Radical Statistics

The Radical Statistics Group, usually abbreviated to Radstats, was formed in 1975 as part of the radical science movement associated with the establishment of the British Society for Social Responsibility in Science (BSSRS). RadStats is now independent of any other organisation. Members are 'radical' in being committed to helping build a more free, democratic and egalitarian society. Members of Radstats are concerned at the extent to which official statistics reflect governmental rather than social purposes.
