INIsPHO Training Workshops

in

Background
Ireland and Northern Ireland’s Population Health Observatory (INIsPHO) has developed a programme of training workshops that includes hands-on practise in its web-based tools. Evaluations have been very positive and have highlighted the need to provide further training support so that such tools can be used effectively.

Aims
To provide hands-on training on the web-based tools and resources produced by the Observatory and other agencies, so they can be used effectively. These tools include the All-Ireland electronic Health Library (AIeHL), and the INIsPHOs eData website.

Progress report (updated August 2008)
In 2007, coursework materials were developed and six workshops were conducted across the island of Ireland: Derry, Cork, Limerick, Belfast and Dublin. A total of 49 people participated in these workshops.

In 2008 five workshops were held in Thurles, Belfast and Sligo. A total of 41 people participated in these workshops.
